GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper, or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.

STEP 1. Draw an oval for the head and under it add a figure for the torso.

STEP 4. Mark the edge of the turban. Draw the neck. Sketch the shape of the arms. Add the silhouette of a sabre in one hand. Work on the edge of the shoe. Erase any excess lines.

STEP 5. Continue working on the turban. Divide the face with a horizontal and vertical line. Draw the gilet. Finish the blade of the sabre. Make the ends of the shoe pointy.

STEP 6. Mark out facial features and fingers. Outline the creases in the body and clothing. Draw the belt. Add elements to the sabre and turban.

STEP 7. Draw ears and lower lip. Improve eyes. Add details to the body and clothing.

STEP 8. Draw eyebrows and hair. Detail the entire drawing.
